IT AIN’T EASY BEING A CHRISTIAN, BUT I’M GLAD I AM!
MONOLOGUE
by way of the Christian Sage - PB2G
I remember the day of my Baptism, I came up from the water,
the waters of Rich Hill Creek,
expecting to see the heavens open up, and white doves flying every which way, and the sounds of an angelic choir being piped in from the billowing white clouds overhead... in stereo... in quadra-sonic bliss.
Well, it didn’t happen that way.
I was... a little... disappointed. ...
This was my first time being baptized after all, and I really didn’t know what to expect.
I’d seen Hollywood movies of baptisms,
including my favorite from “O’ Brother, Where Art Thou”
filled with sirens, white robes, a larger than life pastor, and a gospel choir singing a capella... "Shall We Gather by the River..."
But, all I got was cold and wet, but, in fact, baptized. ... I was pretty sure that, now that I was baptized, everything was gonna be easy street, all my prayers were gonna be answered, life was gonna be one... long... hunky dory, smooth sailing, journey to the Promised Land.
Every day would be righteous, copesetic, in the groove and... well, it was not to be.
There was no fast lane on the spiritual highway
2nd Corinthians 12:10 quotes Paul:
“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.”
And why did Paul tell us this? I believe he wanted to testify...
“For when I am weak, than I am strong.”
Well, in my case, in fact, life became increasingly hard.
Enemies I never knew I had, suddenly made themselves known.
And those were just the pew straddlers in my church!
And family... I have 36 1st cousins who...
For the most part, treated me like I had the bubonic plague.
They demanded to know...
“What happened to you?” as though I had committed some kind of familial treason.
You see, becoming a Christian later in life,
after most folks had a chance to get to know you,
the old you, well... they don’t take kindly to the concept of being... born again.
But, I'm glad I was.

The slogan "A Woman's Right to Choose" is based on 3 false premises:
(1.) We are usually talking about adolescents, not mature women.
(2.) We do not have a "right" to choose death over life, we may have a motive, but not a right.
(3.) We have already made several sequential choices, and because of those choices, we are now faced with yet another final, consequential, and avoidable choice, entirely of our own doing.
A woman's right to choose should not be a political issue.
A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE?
words and music by of smlarge PB2G
Psalm 139:13
A woman’s “right to choose”, doesn’t mean a child should lose,
The right to look into her Father’s eye.
If a mother’s contemplating doom, for the unborn child within her womb,
Tell her just who life is consecrated by….
Don’t let her - give - in, to Satan’s little lie.
First of all, she was not a woman.
She was a child, living well beyond her years.
She was trading lust for love,
Without a blessing from Above,
Left harboring the guilt, and her adolescent fears.
Secondly, she doesn’t have the right,
To choose between God’s blessing and the death
Of a child in her womb,
That in time would very soon
Be bathing in the Light, and taking its first breath…
You’ll be told, no one cares
You’re in and out, don’t be scared.
You feel no love, you feel no pain.
It’s just another two lives, flushed, down the drain!
Last of all, she already made a choice,
When her passion overruled her chastity.
When she chose to spread her wings,
She never thought through little things,
Like just how complicated, her life was gonna be…
A woman’s “right to choose”, doesn’t mean a child should lose,
The right to look into her Father’s eye.
If a mother’s contemplating doom, for the unborn child within her womb,
Tell her just who life is consecrated by….
Don’t let her - give - in, to Satan’s little lie.
